This piece was inspired by mid-century modern design and was completed as a student project for a table construction course.
The top has a "waterfall" grain, which means that pieces of wood are intentionally aligned to connect from the top down the sides.
All joinery used in this construction (except for the miters composing the box) was cut entirely by hand for the sole purpose of advancing hand saw skills and chisel techniques.
