Both fluid and modern, "Ascend" is inspired by the lotus blossom, but its concept transforms into so much more.
Symmetrical geometry envelops vivid petals handcrafted from abalone, black mother of pearl, gold mother of pearl and white acrylic pearl. The inlays are set into a beautifully rich piece of Bolivian Rosewood and fastened with a sterling silver chain.
This piece was created as a student and exhibited in the end-of-semester Student Exhibition.
It won first place for the "Use of Technology."
